KisanKraft considers SAARC and Africa for export of agricultural equipment

Bengaluru-based KisanKraft Pvt Ltd, an agricultural equipment manufacturer focused on small and medium-sized farmers, is considering overseas markets of SAARC, West Asia and Africa.

The company plans to start shipping agricultural equipment such as inter-cultivators and brush cutters manufactured at its Nellore plant from early next year, said Ravindra Agarwal, promoter and general manager of KisanKraft Ltd.

Until recently, the company imported this equipment from its major ones in China.

“We have received inquiries from the Middle East and Africa,” Agarwal said, adding that the company plans to announce large orders soon.

The company sells its Chinese-made products to countries like Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Now we are going to export these products made at the Nellore unit, he said. The company has started manufacturing BIS-ISI certified motors, water pumps and tillers at its factory in Nellore.

Additional investment

KisanKraft is also making an additional investment of 25 crore in its plant in Nellore to manufacture sprayers, brush cutters, chainsaws, among other equipment, Agarwal said. “We are also working on manufacturing a few other products such as harvesters,” he said.

KisanKraft’s expanded facility is expected to be up and running in about six months, Agarwal said, adding that the company is setting up 30-acre trial plots alongside the manufacturing units.
