The Agricultural Equipment Business (FES) of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., part of the Mahindra Group, announced yesterday (November 1) its tractor sales figures for October 2021. Domestic sales in October 2021 were at 45420 units, against 45588 units in October 2020.

Total tractor sales (domestic + exports) in October 2021 were 47017 units, against 46558 units for the same period last year. The month’s exports were 1597 units.

Commenting on the service, Hemant Sikka, President – Agricultural Equipment Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said: “We sold 45,420 tractors in the domestic market in October 2021 compared to last year. With a rapid Covid vaccination campaign exceeding 100 crore doses in the country, the economy has started to gain momentum, while rural economic activity continues to be resilient.

The monsoon, although cumulatively normal, was delayed by heavy precipitation in September and October. This resulted in a delay in the harvest of the Kharif crop while resulting in higher reservoir levels and moisture content for the Rabi crop.

The expectation of a good Kharif harvest, coupled with good preparations for the Rabi harvest and the festivities to come, will stimulate positive feelings and boost demand in the months to come.

In the export market, we sold 1597 tractors with a growth of 65% compared to last year.
