Oceanside California– The City of Oceanside Planning Division will hold a public workshop for the South Morro Hills Community Plan (SMHCP) on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, in the City Council Chambers at 300 N. Coast Highway, Oceanside from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. :00 pm Virtual participation will also be available via Zoom.
The SMHCP is an extension of the Oceanside Master Plan Update currently underway and includes objectives and policies to guide future land use and development in the South Morro Hills area. The SMHCP aims to preserve farmland by accommodating agritourism and housing while conserving agricultural resources and facilitating the long-term viability of farm operations. The draft policy framework for the SMHCP was first presented to the Planning Commission and City Council as workshop discussion items in the spring of 2021.
As the next phase of public outreach, this design-focused workshop will focus on obtaining community input for the preparation of the SMHCP and “brainstorming” site planning and design strategies for the conservation of agricultural land.
